SpongeBob SquarePants
The animated series SpongeBob SquarePants was created by Stephen Hillenberg, who was a marine science educator and animator. The show follows a sea sponge named SpongeBob and his aquatic friends in Bikini Bottom.
SpongeBob Squarepants is the fifth-longest running animated series on television, and the show has inspired three movies: The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie (2004), Sponge Out of Water (2015), and Sponge on the Run (2020). There have also been two spin-off series called Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show.
A Broadway musical based on the show also premiered in 2017. Sadly, SpongeBob's creator passed away on November 26, 2018. As of 2019, SpongeBob's brand has generated over $13 billion in merchandising revenue.
